Boiled or Fried? Corn Oil Propels Yankees to Victory

"Well, they didn't get much in the way of supplies because we were bombing them continually for over a month, and our blockade made delivery of supplies nearly impossible. The rice oil they use to fry their rice was not able to be delivered. So they had to boil their rice. We had an unlimited supply of corn oil - and we fried our rice. The difference in caloric intake made a big difference and the oils gave us the extra calories and energy to overtake the Japanese. We won, they lost. It's a big victory for corn oil as well."
